Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Development Director to lead fundraising initiatives and nurture donor relationships that sustain and expand our mission. This role is pivotal in advancing the Home’s work—ensuring that every child receives care, support, and opportunity to become a thriving individual grounded in faith.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, implement, and manage robust fundraising strategies (annual giving, major gifts, campaigns, planned giving, donor stewardship).
· Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, churches, foundations, and community stakeholders.
· Oversee special events (e.g., cottages wish lists, Cherokee Day, donor tours) and engagement initiatives.
· Collaborate with executive leadership to align fundraising with strategic goals (e.g., facility expansions, scholarship programs).
· Provide thoughtful stewardship and cultivation of donors, preparing personalized updates, recognition, and impact reporting.
· Monitor fundraising metrics and report progress to the Board of Directors and leadership team.
What We’re Looking For
· Faithful member of the Church of Christ with the belief in the mission to nurture children in crisis.
· Proven fundraising success—experience with capital campaigns, major donor cultivation, and planned gifts preferred.
· Excellent communicator with ability to share compelling stories of mission and impact.
· Ability and willingness to speak to and preach at prospective and supportive congregations.
· Initiative and creativity to launch new giving opportunities, expand donor base, and deepen engagement.
· Experience in nonprofit, faith-based, or child-focused settings is a plus.
· Strategic thinker with relational warmth, organizational discipline, and collaborative spirit.
