Perry Covington - Comptroller
Perry and his wife, Karen, have been houseparents at Cherokee Home for Children since July 2006. They have worked mostly with the older boys and in our transitional cottage. They spent a good deal of time helping kids who are juniors and seniors to be prepared for independent life out of high school.
In March, 2015, Perry was promoted to the position of Comptroller of Cherokee Home for Children. When he is not in the office, he is helping Karen who is housemom to three pre-school age boys.
Perry has been a Bible class teacher for every age from cradle roll to adult and has served as an elder, deacon, preacher and youth minister at various congregations. He calls McRae, Arkansas his hometown.
Perry's philosophy on Christian childcare is that our goal should be "meeting their physical needs so we can minister to their spiritual needs."
Perry and Karen have two grown sons and two grandsons, Calen and Ryder.
